Mother Nature calls when she calls and we all must follow the sound of her voice or to be a bit more direct when we feel our tummy rumble.
Take the other day for example, Mom took me out during my regular outside times all day long. Night time fell and I still passed on my opportunity to take care of my personal business. "I tell Mom I'm good lets go back inside". Mom looks at me with That look, (you all know the one), but there's no hiking around the yard for 15 to 20 mins. Boy was I thankful.
After a while bedtime rolls around and there's the before bedtime potty break. Once again I look at Mom with the "Nopes I'm good look". Mom's really giving me the eye, but once again I'm safe from the hikes around our yard.
I eat my dinnies with my family holding court and it's bedtime. We all get comfy and settle in for a nice long sleep. Suddenly, out of the blue, I know without a shadow of a doubt I must go potty NOW!!
Well Mom is the first one I must tell this news to. Now you have to keep in mind I Molly am a very tactful and polite girl. There's no loud barking or wild goings on. I personally like to kiss Mom to wake her up. If that doesn't do the trick well I kiss her more enthusiastically. None of my polite methods were doing the trick. So of course with nature calling me like the sirens voices from the rocks I had no other recourse but to do the full face body slam.
That's right, you pups that sleep with your pawrents know what I'm talking about. You do what you have to do, isn't that right pawfuriends? We pups save the "full face body slam" for the most dire of situations and let me tell you this was a dire situation. After belly flopping on Mom's face I then fell back to my fervid kisses.
Mom does indeed wake up and with a groggy sleep laden voice asks Molly, "What is it?" I'm doing everything I can to convey that I'm about to have a serious accident here and she's asking me what's wrong? Ohh my Dogs I'm thinking to myself, "Do I really need to draw you a picture?" I get in her face and give her a kiss and turn around and look at my bum.
I'm telling you furiends FINALLY that light bulb moment happens. Mom says, "Molly do you need to go out?" Honestly I almost wept with joy that she finally got it. So dear pups when Mother Nature calls your name at 2:00 in the morning I'm praying your pawrents are a little quicker to catch on than my Mom.
Love,
Molly and my Mom
