I notice everything. I pay extreme attention to what my pawrents do, not to mention Tabby cat, (he likes to try and steal my food) the squirrels. It's just part of my nature. This could possibly all trace back to my great ancestors in the wild hunting for their food. You never know what kind of habits you might pick up in an eat or be eaten life style.
Anyway, getting back to my story, I noticed it was a quiet and peacefully long weekend here. Neither Mom nor Dad did a lot of running, rushing or going. I always like the weekends where Mom and Dad stay at home. We play lots of throw the ball. There's lots of walkies. Well except this weekend, as it rained all holiday.
I realized in the peace and quiet and pleasures of family time that I have a lot to be thankful for. I have family and friends that love me. I have a home with warm clean beds and blankets to snuggle in. I even have my own heating pad for my bed by Mom's desk. Plenty of food that doesn't bother my tummy. (I have tummy issues so Mom cooks me Bison stew meat and jerky for my snacks.)
During this holiday, Mom found out some dear old friends had lost their home and all their possessions to a house fire. We both realized no one knows when misfortune or tragedy may strike, but it's with friendships and prayer that we make it through the good times and the bad.
So dear friends, let's all take the time to reflect on the friendships we have, the food we have, the homes we have , all our many blessings that we take for granted, and say a word of thanks. May we also say a prayer and remember those who are less fortunate for whatever reasons there may be.
Wishing you all a wonderful Easter Holiday.
