That was a few weeks ago and to be sure my walks through my woods and fields began that very day. It's simply a sign of the seasons. With the slightest turning of the leaves and the cutting of the hay my fall walks resume once again. This time of year is always my favorite. I'm a fall baby. I was born Sept. 11, 2010. I don't know if that's why I love cooler temps or if it's simply because I have so much hair and I get hot quickly during the warmer weather.
I've been on several walks since the baling of the hay. It's been glorious. The skies have been a beautiful Cobalt blue, the leaves showing just a touch of golden yellows, and ruby reds. The sun shining down giving the perfect touch of warmth on these early fall days.
I've explored and sniffed to my heart's content. The pair of hawks that live in the trees along the edge of the field wheeling and dodging above me in the currents of the wind, singing their song of love back and forth. The frogs on the banks of the pond adding a muted background of deep bass Hummmps providing a rhythm to mother nature's musical score in this beautiful annual fall play.
Mom and I take in a deep breath of the sweet smelling freshly cut hay and exhale all the stress and worries that go with life and realize they're all unimportant. Granted a few of them are important, but not for now. For now we relax in knowing that even though the seasons change, years may come and go there's a rhythm to life.
My nose leads me further into the woods down our trail and I once again catch up on my friends lives in the woods. The turkey family found a new high rise and moved over the summer. Mr. Foxy found a new apartment as well.
There is indeed a rhythm to life and this my Mom and I's talisman. We head back up the trial to our little apartment in Tanner Brigade feeling refreshed and invigorated. We pray all our friends have their own piece of magic that restores their souls and relieves their worries.
I look back at my Mom and give her a wag of my tail, a smile and up the trial I run looking forward to my warm bed and a nice nap.
Happy Fall dear friends,
Love, Molly and my Mom
