Thankfully Mom's all well now and our normal lives have resumed. Today Mom cleaned the leaves out of a flower bed on one side of the house. She and I were both surprised she didn't feel like she was close to death after that. Mom looked at me and said Molly lets go and plant that Crepe Myrtle left over from last fall. I looked at her like she'd lost her mind.
For those of you who haven't known us terribly long, Mom has had one medical issue after another for a few years. This has translated to Dad taking care of the small amount of gardening that's gotten done. The flower beds are all showing signs of needing a loving touch and a good amount of attention. I honestly didn't think I'd ever see Mom working in her flowers again. That is until today.
I sat in amazement and watched as Mom went to the barn and got out the Mattock and Shovel, a bag of fertilizer and a bucket. I slowly smiled as I being the pup of a gardener knew what this translates to. We were indeed going to plant the Crepe Myrtle, but it also meant I truly am getting my old Mom back.
You pups know Mom lets me dig for moles all over our yard. For now that rates right up there with playing with my yellow squeaky ball. What's off the chart fun though is watching my hoomans dig a hole. ROFBOL have you seen hoomans dig in the dirt pawfuriends? It's totally hilarious. I being the helpful pup that I am watched my Mom digging with her attachable paws. They allow her to dig standing on her back legs. (I've never been able to fully figure out some of the things my hoomans do). I stepped up to the hole, telling Mom" Watch this Mom. This is how it's done." (I'm a Dachshund and we are famous for being digging machines). Why in a matter of seconds I had made far more headway then the Mom had in several minutes of her strange digging methods. Looking at me in total disbelief Mom said Molly you did a lovely job, but you need to let me get this finished. Talk about feeling unappreciated.
Once again she grabs her attachable paws and commences to doing her strange digging. Let me tell you pawfuriends she didn't get her hole dug anywhere as fast as one of we pups could. Why she made me tired just watching her.

The wonderful thing is now we have a tangible object tied to the moment in time of Mom and I truly getting our lives back. When the intangible becomes tangible that is indeed a miraculous event pawfuriends. Here's hoping everything you wish and dream for your hoomans becomes a reality as well.
Love, Molly and My Mom
