Well I guess I don't have to ask Mom if we're going walking with all That rain coming down. Molly's mood becomes almost as dark as the skies outside. Thinking back she tries to remember the last time she got to go for a walkie. I can't remember when I've gone on a walk or even got to play in the backyard Molly moans sadly.
Noticing Molly's long face her Mom comes over and sits in the chair by Molly's perch. Rubbing her little girls head she says, "Molly I promise the suns going to come out and we're going to go on a nice long walk. Just as surely as there are summer rains, the sunshine is certain to follow.
For now let's appreciate what we have while we have it. Dad and I planted tons of roses and shrubs. God sending the rain is like Him giving our hard work His kiss of approval. The rains are going to help the newly planted roses and shrubs get established and grow. I'm sure there are gardeners everywhere giving thanks that they're not having to carry buckets of water, or drag a garden hose all over their yard to water their newly planted flowers and shrubs.
Part of being a happy pup is learning to be content with what we have. If we spend all our time focusing on what we don't have we throw away our possible joys and blessings we have in the here and now". Molly grumbles but Mom I'm not happy now. I've been trapped inside forever! Holding back a laugh at her sweet pups sad face, Molly's Mom said, "Go get your ball Molly, we can play fetch for a while. After that you can take a nap. You never know the sun may come out for a while and we can take a stroll down the driveway".
While running to get her ball Molly realized the simple truth in her Mom's words. If you spend all your time wanting the things you don't have, you lose sight of the blessings that are right in front of you". Molly gives her tail a wag and snatches up her favorite yellow squeaky ball. Running to her Mom dropping the ball she says "Throw it Mom!! Throw it!!
Love, Molly and my Mom (We honestly hope you're not getting our biblical rains)
