First off let me tell you how much we've missed you all and how happy I am to be barking at my furiends once again!! I hope you've been well and enjoying your summer.
Two months ago we made a post stating that our blog posting would be a bit sporadic as my folks were going to start working on the stone walkway and flower gardens around the pergola Dad made Mom 5 years earlier.
WELLL, hasn't time simply flown by! It doesn't really seem like two months to Mom and I but I just checked the date on our last blog and sure enough it's been two months.
I told Mom to loosely base this blog on God and his incredible mercy and kindness to our family. I know to some people it might seem strange for a pup to want to write a blog about God and His mercy. Here at our house we acknowledge God in all we do and thank Him for the kindness He shows us.
The folks completed a few of the flower gardens around the pergola. There's my angel sister Penny's Memorial Garden with her weather vane that's been finished. My Dad's Mother's Memorial garden is completed. The front flower gardens, walkway and border gardens going down the walk way are completed as well.

Every phase of this project my pawrents completed is a testimony of God's incredible love and faithfulness. Yups that's the truth furiends.
You all know the story of my Mom being housebound for 5 years due to one health issue after another. All her health issues started after she first became Diabetic. Her doctor told Mom all she needed to do was take her Metformin and she didn't really need to keep a check on her blood sugar levels but she could if she wanted to. Mom started feeling worse and worse until it was a true challenge for her to leave the house.
Realizing something had to be done she began walking on the treadmill and recording her blood sugar levels. That began a rather challenging exercising regimen of walking 5 miles a day. This went on for some time, until Mom slowly started feeling better. Finally after almost a year Mom felt well enough to reclaim her life. The end result of that is Mom's lost 50 lbs. Her blood sugar is in the prediabetic range and almost in the none diabetic range. The fatty liver issues she had for several years are now a thing of the past.
We are a determined lot here at my house. Each and every one of us have a stubborn streak. BOL not a one of us can on our most determined days can touch my Mom's level of stubborn.
When Mom said she was going to put in a rock walk way and flower gardens around the pergola Dad built her that desire was going to become a reality regardless to the 5 years that passed during the interim between idea and the completion.
I watched my folks working in the garden each day. They put in some long, hard hours making Mom's dream a reality. Every plant that was planted, every garden that was completed Mom's health became a little better, her body a little stronger. Everyday spent outside working on making a beautiful garden was proving to us all the steadfast, faithfulness and truth in Gods words.
Ecclesiastes 3 There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens: There is...
2-a time to plant and a time to uproot. (in my Mom's life, A time to sit and a time to garden BOL)
Philippians 4:13 I know how to live humbly, and I know how to abound. I am accustomed to any and every situation...I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
These are the verses I think of when I think of my Mom and her odyssey. You see I tried to tell my Mom while she wasn't feeling well those five years and wondering why this happened to her "That this part of her life would pass and possibly her sharing some of her story might help someone else.
Whatever situation we may go through in life take a moment and remember God hasn't forsaken us..He is there with us even through our darkest days. He who brings us to it, (whatever it may be) can get us through it. We may never understand some of our life's struggles, and that's ok.
We are the culmination of all our experiences. As the beauty of a glaze on a pot cannot be seen without the exact temp for that glaze in the kiln, only God knows the temp of the fire to add to each of our lives in order to bring out our own unique beauty.
Each day Mom and I walk in the garden she and Dad made (with my supervision, I might add), and are simply in awe of what we can do ,"through God who gives me strength".
We'll share more of our past two months in our upcoming blogs. (Though they may still be a bit sporadic).
Love,
Molly and my Mom
