On the backside of the storm we've had some wonderful fall temp's providing Mom and I with the opportunity to once again resume our hikes around the farm and woods.
The folks had some business to take care of in town today. That took up most of the morning. Needless to say I was eager to get out the door and enjoy the outside when the pawrents got home. Mom needed a break as well, she's like me and more of a country girl.
As we broke through the trees and stepped out into the warm sunshine Mom and I both let out a contented sigh. The gentle hum of the insects in the freshly cut field provided a quiet melody along with the chatter of the birds in the forest beside the path. It was indeed a much needed moment in the sunshine.
Mom and I talked about the situations in life that try and take your focus off of your moments in the sunshine. You can let life steal your sunshine, or you can take both hands and hold on to it with all you've got. We decided life is full of choices, you can have faith in the storm, or you can put your faith in the sunshine that comes after the storm.
We as a family have had a challenging year, Mom and Dad with their health issues, me with mine, but we have each other and we know that as surely as the storms and hurricanes come there's sunshine on the other side.
Hold on to your sunshine dear furiends that's what we've decided to do.
Love,
Molly and my Mom
