Yes indeed my Mom is southern to her core. If there's a storm forecast you can bet your last dollar Mom will be stocking supplies with the best of the southern ladies in our area.
You're not going to find her on the bread and milk aisle either my furiends. No she will be located on the baking and meat aisles. Mom's never that concerned with milk, cereal, and bread as we always have bread and milk.
She's going to cook enough food for the entire neighborhood for a week. That's right folks, we may lose power, (or not as we have a generator) the snow may reach the roof-top (or not as we live in the south) but, should a storm be forecast we're going to have enough food, snacks, and baked goods to get us through until the National Guard can make their way back to our humble home in the woods. (and then they probably will be invited to partake of our feast).
My Mom has been like this for as long as I've been alive. I Molly always have a bunny or some Bison in the freezer. Now I always have an extra bag of dry kibble in the freezer as well. It simply goes with having one of these Mom's that's always prepared for the worst, but hoping for the best. It's difficult to say if she's one of those glasses half full sort of people as she's always ready should the glass be half empty.
Here's hoping you missed the Stomageddon, and that your glass is always half full but (are prepared for those days that it's half empty.)
Love, Molly and my Mom
