Remembering the terrible wind, rain, hail, the horrible sound of trees snapping, and falling onto her roof Molly inadvertently flinched. She remembered running to the French doors barking at the storm to leave her, and her family alone. (Funny how that didn't work she thought)
Nothing had been the same since that day, then again the most important things were. Mom and Dad are still here watching over me, I have a safe warm place to live and rest. I have food that's safe and good for me to eat. I'm loved and well taken care of.
Molly frowned thinking about how long it had been since she'd been able to go outside, bark at squirrels and play in her back yard. Inadvertently she let out another sigh, realizing it was going to be even longer before her fence (torn down by the storm) was going to be back up, so she could return to chasing squirrels.
Just before dozing off Molly recalled her Mom telling her something, "Molly, In every life some rain will fall, but remember, behind every storm there's always sunshine.
Look at your challenges as an opportunity to grow, to test your resolve, once you're on the other side of your situation (in the sunshine once again) you can look back and say, I got through it.. It was tough but I made it.
As Molly fell asleep she smiled and told herself I can get through this and Mom's right, " The sun always shines after a storm".
Love, Molly and my Mom
